A Decade in the Making

2016
The Trust is Established
WCDT is formed by local residents.
[placeholder] A group of committed residents came together with a shared belief: that Winchburgh's community deserved a vehicle for its own development.
2017
First Community Activities
Early events and consultations begin.
[placeholder] Over 200 people attended the first consultation. The Trust began building relationships and understanding community needs.
2018
First Grants Distributed
WCDT begins funding local projects.
[placeholder] The first small grants programme funded youth sports equipment, community art, and more.
2019
Growing Partnerships
Formal partnerships with West Lothian Council.
[placeholder] The Trust deepened its relationship with the Council and established formal partnerships with local organisations.
2020
Community Pandemic Response
Adapting to support the community through COVID-19.
[placeholder] Volunteers coordinated food deliveries, check-in calls, and online activities for young people.
2021–2022
Section 75 Developer Contributions
Major funding from housing development begins flowing.
[placeholder] Significant Section 75 contributions transformed the Trust's capacity.
2023
Community Hub Plans
Vision for a permanent community space.
[placeholder] Plans for a community hub took shape, informed by extensive resident consultation.
2025
Community Survey Launched
First comprehensive survey in nearly a decade.

2026
A New Chapter Begins
Ten years on — looking forward.
